How to Cook Carrots

Today I'm going to share one of my favourite recipes of preparing carrots. My family loves stewed carrots made this way. You'll get a dish which can be a very good garnish, and adding yoghurt or sour-cream you'll get a tasty salad. Let's try it now!

You'll need:
  • 3-4 big carrots, grated
  • a handful of nuts (cashews, walnuts or any others), crushed
  • salt
  • your favourite herbs and spices
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
How to cook carrots
  1. Pour vegetable oil on frying pan and add some spices. I generally use zeera, turmeric, paprika, black pepper (~ 1/4 tsp each).
  2. Add grated carrots. Cook on middle heat, stirring occasionally, until golden. Here, if you want, you may add chopped garlic or garlic powder.
  3. Now add crushed nuts and some pinches of salt - I think 3 pinches are quite enough. Cook (stirring occasionally) about 3 min more.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of water, cover the frying pan with a lid and cook carrots on the lowest heat until tender (5-8 min).
  5. Sprinkle carrots with herbs. I use dry dill and basil.
That's all! Stewed carrots are really easy to prepare and make a wonderful substantial bite, garnish or a salad - it's all up to you. Hope you'll enjoy! ^_^
