Dad and Mom

Translating what I accidentally found in the net.
“A long-awaited child appeared in the family. Happy mom, cheerful dad under the windows of maternity home. Discharging, sea of flowers. Home! First night. Papa is taking his pillow and blanket and going to the sofa in another room.
“I want to sleep and he’s constantly crying”. Mom understands everything.

Morning. Weekend. Mom is feeding the baby, swaddling him, taking for a walk. She’s walking with the baby for long. Home. Could she have rest for at least half an hour. Door to the living-room is open, the bed is not made, dad’s not at home. She’s calling.
“Where are you?”
“You see, Vasily (Peter, Mikhail) asked to drive him on business (invited to fishing, bath-house), I can’t say no to a friend”.
Swaddling bands, washing, cleaning, preparing food, ironing.
To mom days and nights are all the same now. No hairdo, red eyes. Dad’s feeling freedom more and more. Food is prepared, clothes are washed, flat is clean, what else one needs! And friends is a sacred thing. Friends need help.
“Are you tired? Of sitting at home all day? Go for a walk, that’s a rest! An amusement! Don’t you want to? Tired? You’re such a malingerer!”
Mom is trying to be in time for everything, dad’s not appreciating that. Mom is wearing herself out. Dad won’t notice. Mom is asking him to carry out rubbish. Dad’s angry. Mom’s crying out of offence.
Mom is rejoicing at the first smile of the baby. Dad is happy at a new anecdote. Mom’s patience is about to end. Dad is returning to the empty flat. Dad can’t understand why that happened.
I’m ready to make a monument to those men who share difficulties with women. You can’t just want children, you can’t just give birth to them. They need your care!”
