Puchaechum (부채춤) Mehendi

Fancy mehendi by my friend's sketch. My friend is a professional artist and is very much fond of Korean culture, particularly dancing. Her source of inspiration was traditional Korean fan dance puchaechum (부채춤). So mehendi is mostly made of half-mandalas resembling open fans, design of those fans is made by me.

Latest Mehendi

I've been training myself a lot on making mehendi. The first one is a total copy of Sonika Verma's design in Instagram where I tagged her and got a very nice positive feedback.)) Others are mine. I've been also trying white henna "Golecha", just for a change.

Autumn Leaves, Watercolour

This painting was made on 13th of November and gifted to my mom on her birthday. This is the result of my first webinar on watercolour art (by artist Maryana Bryukhanova (Instagram: @maryana_bryukhanova)). I've got so much of positive emotions, felt more freedom in my hand and got to know some watercolour secrets. ^_^

Portrait of Stasė

My ex. batchmate had her birthday recently, so, as I had some spare time, I decided to draw her portrait. Among my batchmates Stasė was a bright personality - vivid, laughing, loud, talkative, resilient. Also, she was the permanent group leader.)) Stasė is originally Lithuanian, so her long and sonorous surname was eminent among Russian ones - Ramanauskaitė.
I've got some fond memories of Stasė. Although she's moved to Moscow, she's found me on social network.

My Artwork In Embroidery

My artwork in an embroidery set released by a Russian company "PANNA". I'm not fond of embroidery but gifted this to my friend who masters this and loves cross-stitch. She's already started her work. ^_^

Artist: Vera Kostyleva.
Embroidery designer: Natalia Romanova.

Mehendi Just For Practice ^_^

This set is made to see how the new mehendi paste would behave. ^_^  I deliberately tried it on foot because skin is soft and thin there, and usually mehendi is pale and doesn't last long. But seems like this one won't say good bye too soon. ^_^

1. Right after application
2. Two hours after, henna is peeled off, and mustard oil is thoroughly applied above the pattern which immediately gave bright pumpkin colour.
3. Two hours more, and the stain seems good. ^_^

Money Envelope on Birthday Occasion

This money envelope is meant for a girl's birthday and is made entirely up to her liking (violet colour scheme). Cute flowers and laces playfully remind of carefree childhood. ^_^

Indian Women's Clothing

I was diverting myself these days a bit. Was drawing for a couple of evenings, using soft-tip pens, it’s much quicker than using water colour. I just wanted to make quick sketches of colour matches and patterns. I must say I wasn’t very much precise with outlines, so please don’t search for symmetry.))

Those are basic types of Indian women's clothing, as for styles they vary in various regions.
Most of all there are lehenga-choli-dupatta (lehenga is long skirt, choli is short skin-tight blouse, dupatta is a sort of scarf). I like their fashion and for sure they look much simpler to wear than sarees.

Three sarees (blue with light-blue (Southern drapery), emerald and yellow with light-blue).

With  puffy trousers, salwar – salwar-kameez.

With skin-tight trousers, churidaar, draped on ankles – churidaar-kurti.

Learning to Love

It's strange, but only today I'm learning to love.
New destiny has begun from the moment you came.
This new me
is measuring out life.
Understanding. And dreaming that everything will be okay.
It's crowded inside - so much I have got to write yet,
singing out this tenderness, saved deeply within!
I'm lacking words. But not lacking strength to wait,
and to say it all with my eyes, smile, all my essence,
emitting joy and hope, aspiration to be
a favouring wind and stars of eternal love.
This is true - today I'm just learning this, how to love.
I will learn, I will wait till the moment when you'll call me.

Mehendi

This mehendi is applied with henna cone made by me, and it's not my invented design, it's a copy. Any beginner should copy things first to make his own pieces. ^_^

I'm deeply satisfied with the outcome, really. Even though it's not totally my creativity, anyway I've done it using henna cone made by myself.))

My Site

Today is just the right day to launch my tiny site. Dunno why, just decided so. ^_^
It's bilingual (Russian/English).

I've started making it on January, 6, but then I couldn't find enough time for making it further. I was making it only from time to time.

So my site is kinda raw by now. But with time I'll fill it with new content.

Welcome. ^_^

I Will Remain Your Belief

Our world is going on its spiral turn,
it's disappearing in placid milky distance.
The sands of days are rapid as they flow
unrolling our paths into the endlessness...
And when you go into the morning rain,
by path unclear, tangled and unstable,
I will remain for you like clear day,
like evening song, like night which is so gentle.
Wherever you direct your faithful ships,
whichever storms would threaten them with anger,
I pray that black clouds would just pass sideways,
and if not, then for wounds to heal up sooner.
And then I will be like lighthouse, which
black clouds won't destroy surrounding it.
You know, my brave one, where your house is,
the place where you are waited, you are loved.
I will accept it all. Forget despair.
In boundless love I will dissolve your pain.
Wherever you will make your way again,
I will remain as your belief - forever.

First image took me 15 min, 2nd one took about 25-30 min. ^_^
Going to train myself more. ^_^
